Forget balance…Creating a work life equation that works for YOU

If you think about it, years ago before it was the norm for women to be an integral part of the work force, no one talked about work-life balance. In fact, the term didn’t really exist. Then something wonderful happened – women went to work and achieved roles and leadership positions that were previously and traditionally held by men. And while women were proving that we could “have it all” and men stepped up to the plate and got comfortable with taking on more home and child rearing responsibilities, suddenly work life balance became a buzz word with everyone chasing it and few people actually finding it.

This workshop teaches the participants how to approach work life balance in a completely different way and focuses on defining a work life equation or formula that’s specific to the individual and works for them - whether it’s balanced or not. Life and work situations tend to be dynamic not static, meaning that an individual’s work life equation may look purposely different at specific intervals in one’s life and career. Think of it this way, 5 plus 5 equals 10. But there are other equations that reach the same result; 6 plus 4, 7 plus 3, 8 plus 2, etc. Creating a work life equation works in the same way – you define what end result you want and structure a work life equation that gets you there.

The workshop focuses on helping individuals define what the end result is that they are trying to achieve relative to their work life equation and how to structure the appropriate equation for their specific work life objectives.

Understanding and Coping with Personal and Professional Stress

More than ever, people are stressed out. Job burnout experienced by 25% to 40% of U.S. workers is blamed on stress. Employee stress is being recognized as a drain on corporate productivity and competitiveness. To avoid the peaks and valleys of productivity created by high stress levels, organizations need employees who know how to balance the urgent demands of work life and personal life. This workshop focuses on teaching participants how to recognize and cope with stress in four life areas. Read more…
